Spike says "hi" from beyond the grave.

I'm mook-e-stink, and also go by the nickname "Sasha". I am a cisgender male. I live in Edmonton, Canada. I like to read and write, debate philosophy, and play video games with friends. Right now, I'm playing Valheim, Stellaris, and Civilization.

My favourite movie is "Ghostbusters". I like "Beavis and Butt-Head" and "Doctor Who". I grew up on "Calvin and Hobbes" and "Far Side". I love puns and stupid jokes (Why did Karen press ctrl-alt-delete? She wanted to see the task manager.) My favourite authors are all philosophers, but my favourite non-philosopher is Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, author of Sherlock Holmes.

I have a B.A. in Philosophy with a minor in biological sciences, and am working on a post-degree in High School Education, with a teachable major of English Language Arts.

I discovered Neocities in November 2025, and think that that it's something in which it is virtuous to participate. I will work on this site until it is interesting.

To my eternal dismay, I suffer from a mental disorder that sometimes can make it difficult to think, which is probably why I am so interested in thinking well. I fear that one day I will suffer from dementia and be trapped in a hospital bed and in my own head, and that is my greatest nightmare.

In fact, solitude and mental degradation frighten me far more than death. I really feel for undead liches, living by themselves in deep dungeons beneath the earth. Spend a few months in a hospital and you will feel for them, too.

I try to live life as though Nietzsche's "eternal recurrence" were true. If, at death, you discover that you will have to re-live your entire life again, without any differences or alterations, would you consider this to be a curse or a blessing? A moral person is one who would consider this "eternal recurrence" to be a good thing, because this means that they lived their life well. Someone who lived their life poorly would not want to taste it again. (I don't agree with Nietzsche on many of his other views, but this one I find poignent.)
